History of Sydenhams

Sydenhams is an independent company with a long tradition of supplying timber and building materials throughout the South Coast. Founded in Poole in 1874 on a site where timber is still imported today, the company is able to supply all building needs through a network of 14 branches, three of which specialise in Timber Engineering.

The Sydenhams Timber Engineering Team has wealth of experience in timber frame Construction and currently supplies many sectors of the market including the private sector, schools, hotels, affordable housing, key worker and local authority amongst others.

Sydenhams is a proud member of TRADA and the UKTFA and strongly believes in the utilisation of sustainable building products with all components being either FSC or PEFC certified.

Sydenhams Timber Engineering has a proven record in the design, manufacture and erect of timber frame construction and if there is a need for Eco-Homes performance standards, off-site manufactured products or modern methods of construction, Sydenhams is able to provide the necessary timber frame solution.
